Description

The EGG NOT from RUSTY - A top-class quad single fin surfboard.

The Egg Not from RUSTY is basically a squash tail version of our mid-length board, the eGG. Given the growing popularity of mid-length boards, it was only natural for us to offer a squash tail mid-length board as a quad single fin. The squash tail offers a little more surface area, extends the rail line and gives the board a more manoeuvrable feel compared to a roundtail. The Egg Not is a versatile board that should not be missing from your quiver. In average wave conditions, you can paddle the wave well and carry yourself effortlessly through the sections, while the board still offers the agility for easy turns. Even in slightly bigger surf, the Egg Not continues to perform impressively!

With a moderate rocker at the front end of the board, paddling speed is increased, taking on waves is made easier and overall planing is improved. The curve of the board is slightly above average, which helps to tighten the arcs of your turns without losing speed. The thickness of the board is slightly thinner for its size, which makes it easier to dive into the water while also helping it to hold up better in bigger waves. The fin setup is up to you. For a livelier ride, we recommend a 4-fin quad setup. If you want something more relaxed or traditional, a 2-plus-1 setup is the way to go.

The Egg Not at Sano - Rusty Surfboards

ACT SURFBOARD TECHNOLOGY

Rusty's ACT construction typically offers strength, lightweight and value for money - three crucial factors that are often seen as a compromise. The Rusty ACT shortboard features three layers of fibre on the deck and a 6oz rail tape in the tail. On the bottom is a 6oz + 4oz lay-up, complemented by UD carbon strips on the top and bottom. Interestingly, despite this structure, the weight remains comparable to a lightly glazed PU board.

However, the standout feature is the impressive responsiveness of these boards. The feeling when surfing with these boards is unique as they are extremely responsive. The unrestricted flex and low weight ensure that all the energy you transfer through your foot movements is directly translated into the turn without the "dampening" effect of the resin.

TEC - TORQ EPOXY COMPOSITE SURFBOARD TECHNOLOGY

Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in our modern epoxy lamination. These boards offer the best balance between lightness and durability. Our unique lamination process allows us to use a very strong 6oz and 4oz fibreglass layup in a 3-ply topsheet and 2-ply base (with a 4-ply rail overlap) with a high density EPS foam and still achieve a board weight comparable to a lighter fibreglass layup.

The result is a light but very stable board with good flexing characteristics and, as with all Torq boards, excellent value for money.

The TEC shortboards have 2 full layers of fibreglass over the deck and bottom. On the deck we also use a 6oz deck patch which provides a triple layer of protection against dents but does not affect the flex along the rail. The addition of a carbon filament stringer and UD carbon twin layers on the base makes these boards extra bouncy and responsive.
